But before I tell you my story, here are a few things I would like for you to establish first:
First, I am a teacher by profession. At one point of my life, I put up my own business--a learning center. I will always be proud of my baby and its product. It is now a defunct company, and now I understand where I have gone wrong managing the business. I wish I had known the system that I learned from IM later on.
Second, IM is a business but the main purpose it was created is to "help" non-technical, non-marketing people who would like to succeed with their businesses like me. So if you are a marketing person, you are probably familiar with the products of IM. In my online searches, I realized that IM may have been patterned after other businesses, or that other businesses may have been patterned after IM. I also observed that each one is unique on its own. So when IM claims to be uniquely Filipino, I can't help but agree for the most part. Whichever is the best is not my concern anymore. IM reached me first, and the company provides me with what I need most to become the successful entrepreneur I aspire to become. This does not inhibit me from learning from or becoming an affiliate of other similar businesses, of course. However, doing so, I just find myself mostly confused rather than focused so that does not help me much.
Third, since IM is a business, it definitely promotes itself, which is something I understand. Although at first I found the taglines and IM marketing texts a bit "spammy" as its products are promoted to be FREE TRAINING, and where there is an initial fee of 2,999 pesos for its basic program, I later on found myself sticking to it. I stuck to this description because in the process of learning about the products and the strategies they promote, I have indeed gained a lot of FREE learning and FREE information within my reach. One might argue that most information is just a "Google" away, but the truth is one like me would not know how to start if the concepts or terms were not presented to me. IM did just that. So I have been Googling myself away, hungry for more. And again, I remember what IM mentors said, that we (I) will be taught how "to fish" in the ocean of huge businesses and internet marketers.
